2026 Hoodsport Rally
March 28 – April 1, 2026
Rest-A-While RV Resort

WOW!!! What a rally, if you missed it we talked about you.
This Northwest Trek Fun Club Rally was held from Tuesday March 28 thru Friday April 1, 2026 in beautiful Hoodsport, Wa. at the Rest-A-While RV Resort. The rally was organized and hosted by Wojo and Kathleen Walczak and Dick and Nancy Harris our Wagon Masters.
Tuesday The bulk of the crowd arrived on Tuesday, however we did have a few early arrivals that chose to extend their enjoyment and relaxing time. Tuesday afternoon we all gathered in the stupendous Resort clubhouse social time, Hors d’oevres, and a pot luck dinner followed by a raucous game of Card Bingo. Yours truly was the BIG winner however his celebration was cut short when it was discovered he must share his huge jackpot with Wojo. What fun is that . A good time was had by all as it was really wonderful to re-connect with folks we had not seen in a while.
Wednesday morning started bright and early at 8:30 am with a Continental Breakfast on steroids, I mean holy smokes folks. Our hosts provided various Homemade Breads, homemade English Muffins, a huge fruit platter or two, granola, yogurt, plus juice, coffee, jams etc. Nobody went back to their Trek hungry.
Wednesday was special because our Wagon Masters had arranged a tour on which most of us went. This “Adventure” left the Campground at 10:00 am and first went to the Skokomish Tribal Museum where we got a personally narrated tour of their superb museum. They have, among other things, a phenomenal collection of Native American Baskets constructed primarily of local grasses some of which are very old. From there we headed up into the nearby mountains to visit the “High Steel Bridge”. This bridge was constructed in 1929 as a railroad logging bridge. It is 375 feet above the creek below which creates a mind bending feeling when looking over the side of it. Laura, who has trouble with heights, was only willing to approach the edge while holding my hand. I mean wow, Holy Shazbotsky Batman!! it is a long way down. The bridge was paved into a roadway in 1964. Today it is in the National Register of Historic Places. We took a 1/2’ish mile hike to a view point from which we had a great view of the bridge from the side. I have to say this is a very impressive spot. Next, and last but certainly not least, we went to lunch at “Fijord Oyster Bank”. I have run out of flowery and complimentary words, but this place was world class. The owner and his wife personally served us family style at a table that was 4 feet wide and near forty feet long all cut as one single slab. The table itself was worth the visit. They served us oysters, (both BBQed or raw) hot cooked veggies, Korean chicken, Rice, and then they did a detailed seminar and demonstration on Geoduck clams. In the end they cut very thin sushi slices for all of us to try. Tastes like chicken, right? Wrong! but very uniquely good. This afternoon spent with our fellow Trekkers in such unique settings far surpassed what any of imagined based on the written tour description. Off the chart good.
Of course we returned to the Rest-A-While resort to, what do you think?, FOOD of course. Again our Wagon Masters outdid themselves and they did the cooking as well. Can’t get better than that.
Thursday This day began again with an 8:30 am breakfast again cooked by our Wagon Masters. What a spread of egg casseroles, link sausages, hot biscuits with gravy (or butter) along with honey, jams, jellies, fruit plates, coffee, tea, granola, yogurt, etc. Whew!
Thursday after breakfast the Northwest Trek Fun Club held its Membership Meeting. We were pleased to learn all is well with the club.
This afternoon was spent either playing golf, cards, or just relaxing and socializing which was needed in order to properly prepare for more food.
At 6:00 pm we all gathered in the Clubhouse for a true Trekkers Potluck Dinner. This is what we needed, right? more food. It was fantastic though, it always is.
Friday began at 8:30 am with a Continental Breakfast which also included many of the leftovers from previous meals. Then Kathleen and Nancy did their best to send us home with the leftovers from the leftovers. My my, do we have fridge room enough?
All around this was a fantastic rally, I believe a good time was had by all. The weather was fantastic, the view spectacular, the people, just the chance to get together, was priceless.
See you all there again next year along with those that missed it this year.
