Keeler’s ‘Bones & Beans’ 2014

BONES & BEANS FMCA PRE-RALLY

August 7-10, 2014

Keeler’s Ranch, Oregon

The pre-rally started on Thursday, August 7th with 18 coaches. A couple did not arrive till later, but we had a great group of Trekers who enjoy visiting and meeting new people.

On Friday we enjoyed a light Continental Breakfast and then we enjoyed a Happy Hour at the Willamette Fruit & Berry Farms, where they make a large number of pies. They have a happy hour each morning, during the week, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A slice of pie is $1.50 and you can also have a scoop of ice cream, if you like. The group was also given a tour of the facility. This was a wonderful adventure for the group.

Following the pie excursion, we visited Silverton, Oregon, just a few miles away and had lunch and were then given a guided walking tour of the town by a chamber of commerce member, who explained all the different murals that are painted on numerous building in the city. We also learned of the history of the area. A very enjoyable afternoon.

Friday evening we enjoyed a wonderful potluck dinner with a lot of great food.

On Saturday August 9th, the club members enjoyed some of the local sights around the area. Saturday evening we had the Bones and Beans meal of chicken and ribs. The reports were that it was good and we did not find any McDonald bags around the next morning.

On Sunday August 10th, our designated caravan leaders, Ed & Jeanette Block, led us to Redmond to the FMCA Rally, where our club members volunteered for several different venues.

Judy & I had a wonderful time hosting this Pre-Rally and thank all of those that were able to attend and we look forward to you coming again in the future.
